Tākaro can be played by ages 4+ with each round lasting 10-15 minutes. It relies on the recognition of up to 57 various symbols, and the correct pronunciation of their Māori names. Tākaro is fun and engaging for everyone, regardless of where you are in your te reo journey.

The best homework these kids have ever seen! The tamariki love to have a go at this game! They got used to the OG Tākaro and needed a challenge. Bits+Bobs sure has challenged them. This is a great way for them to learn new kupu and work on pronunciation. Whakamīharo! Ka nui te mihi e te Tākaro whānau!

Takaro has been a huge hit! Our tamariki absolutely loved it, and for some, playing in teams made it even more thrilling. The wairua of collaboration and learning came alive, making it a special experience for our kainga. We can’t wait to get more packs so the whole kura can enjoy this taonga. Takaro should be a staple in every Akomanga. It beautifully brings together mahi tahi (teamwork) and ako (learning) in a way that engages everyone.

I am very pleased the Tākaro bundle arrived within days and in excellent condition, I will be pulling them out at whānau get togethers. I/We found out about this product at a local Cafe and they had them there for customers to play while waiting for food, so much fun, as a speaker of te reo māori this product really does help throw some kupu around and mix it up and also helps to refresh the memory and helps others learn te reo māori. Looked it up on google found Game Kings, legit Company, Highly recomended. Good for parties too. Thank you Game Kings!

Bought the whole set my wife and I have started playing one and it's amazing how fast you start to pick up words. Make sure to scan the qr code as it takes you to a website that gives you the right pronouncements. And amazing service from Game kings I will be back for a few other games soon.

Our Mission
Tākaro started with a simple kōrero between friends - who wanted to weave more te reo Māori into their everyday lives but weren't sure where to start. So they built a game.
What came out of that conversation is something the whole whānau can sit down with! Simple enough for tamariki, engaging enough for adults, and genuinely fun for everyone in between. By the time the cards are packed away, you'll be surprised how much sticks.
Tākaro isn't about being fluent overnight. It's about making te reo feel at home in your daily life, one round at a time.
