Tākaro can be played by ages 4+ with each round lasting 10-15 minutes. It relies on the recognition of 57 various symbols, and the correct pronunciation of their Māori names. Tākaro is fun for everyone, regardless of where you are in your te reo journey.

Our Mission
Tākaro started with a simple kōrero between friends - who wanted to weave more te reo Māori into their everyday lives but weren't sure where to start. So they built a game.
What came out of that conversation is something the whole whānau can sit down with! Simple enough for tamariki, engaging enough for adults, and genuinely fun for everyone in between. By the time the cards are packed away, you'll be surprised how much sticks.
